I’m Luke Miller, and my passion is helping nonprofits and other organizations succeed online.
As the Communications Manager for Goodwill Industries of Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada, I work every day with the organization’s digital resources to support our mission. Whether it’s our website, social networks, or anything else, my goal is to experiment and grow our following and our impact on our audiences.
I’m also the President of my own web design and online marketing company, Miller Marketing. I’ve had the good fortune to work with many small businesses and nonprofits on their online presence, making digital resources work more effectively to reach their objectives.
So what’s Bright Nonprofit?
The goal of this website is to be a place where I can share a few different things with nonprofit marketing team members around the world.
The first thing I want to be able to share is what knowledge I have already. With my experience working in visual communications agencies, corporations, and in my own business, I have gathered lots of tips and tools along the way that may be exactly what you and your organization need to take that next step.
The second is the new things I’m picking up every day to tackle new challenges in my role at Goodwill. Every day brings something new to the table that makes me have to innovate and learn, and those lessons might just translate and apply to what you are working on right now!
Finally, I want to share a little positivity and community. I’m a notoriously optimistic person and have come to realize the value of working together online over the years. By sharing what we know, getting to know each other, and continuing to try to make each other smile, the online space only gets better!
And who are you again, Luke?
I’m an entrepreneur and nonprofit professional living and working in beautiful Sacramento, CA. As the capital city of California, the nonprofit community in the area is incredibly active.
I’m a singer in and on the board of the Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus, a video gamer, an avid reader, an aspiring author, and did I mention a Disney aficionado? And by aficionado, I mean a bit of a freak. Disneyland is one of my favorite travel destinations, and Disney pin trading has become a slight obsession.
